The japanese writing on the picture is a haiku written by Matsuo Basho. Zoltan Barczikay translated it to english. You can check out many more haikus and japanese poems here: [link]
He has an awesome site about japanese poetry. :)

Nah, the writing looks cool, with that brushed on look. Neat picture; traditional(ish) yet interesting. The guy reminds me of Rurouni Kenshin or something.

Imadom a haikukat, es Basho volt az egyik legnagyobb haiku kolto!

Ezzel egyutt erdekes modon a regi Kinai rajzok sokkal jobban tetszenek, mint a Japanok, nem tudom miert. Talan kifinomultabbak valahogy...

Én még nem annyira ismerem a haikukat... csak próbáltam valami illusztráció-szerűséget összehozni, aztán a végén nem is lett olyan nagyon béna szerintem (vagy remélem :D ) :) Bár nem nagyon hasonlít se a régi japán, se a kínai rajzokra azt hiszem ^^;

De egyébként tényleg, a japánok a kínaiaktól vették át azt a rajzstílust?

Igen, csakugy mint a kulturajuk sok mas reszet. Sokaig a Kinai kulturat egyertelmuen felsobbrendunek es utanzandonak tartottak. Egyebkent ha rakeresel, tenyleg reneteg csodalatos osi Kinai rajzot fogsz talalni! nekem is log a falamon vagy harom, persze csak masolatban...
